Scope and who we are

This policy applies to the RunnerKit macOS application and the RunnerKit product website. RunnerKit is developed and operated by Francisco Cantu (collectively, “RunnerKit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

RunnerKit is designed for Apple-platform developers. The app does not require a RunnerKit account and does not operate a remote build service.

Information stored on your Mac

RunnerKit stores the information needed to remember and perform your runs locally:

The trial receipt includes a random installation identifier and timing or disposition information. RunnerKit does not derive or transmit your Mac serial number, MAC address, IOPlatformUUID, project path, or another hardware identifier for trial or license enforcement.

Crash and error diagnostics

RunnerKit starts the Sentry SDK when the app launches. Sentry may automatically receive crash reports and related diagnostic events, including stack traces, error messages, timestamps, RunnerKit version, macOS and device information, technical breadcrumbs, and the network address observed when the report is sent.

RunnerKit does not intentionally attach your saved configurations, project contents, project paths, build logs, environment overrides, CLI requests, or license key to Sentry. Because operating-system and framework-generated error text can contain incidental technical context, no crash-reporting system can guarantee that every diagnostic string is free of user-provided information. Crash reporting is currently automatic and has no in-app switch.

Purchases and license checks

Choosing Buy RunnerKit or Manage Purchase opens Polar in your browser. Polar acts as merchant of record and may collect your name, email address, billing details, payment details, IP address, and purchase history under its own policy. RunnerKit does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

When you activate, validate, or deactivate a license, the app sends Polar the license key, activation ID when available, public RunnerKit organization and benefit identifiers, and the neutral label “RunnerKit on this Mac.” Polar and its infrastructure also receive ordinary connection metadata such as IP address and request time. RunnerKit does not send hardware identifiers, project data, or build logs with these requests.

Update checks

RunnerKit uses Sparkle for manual and optional background update checks. An update check requests RunnerKit’s appcast over HTTPS from Amazon CloudFront; the host therefore receives standard request information such as IP address, time, and HTTP headers. RunnerKit does not enable Sparkle’s optional system profiling feature. Update archives are downloaded only according to your Sparkle update settings and choices.

Xcode, Apple services, and project code

RunnerKit invokes the Xcode installation and Apple command-line tools already on your Mac. Xcode may communicate with Apple for services such as developer authentication, signing, device registration, provisioning, runtimes, or other features you use. Those connections are controlled by Apple, Xcode, your project, and your account settings—not by a RunnerKit cloud service.

Building an Xcode project can also execute its own scripts, package plug-ins, macros, or tools. Those components may make network requests or process data according to their own code. RunnerKit does not control or receive those requests.

Support email

Email Support opens your default mail app with a draft addressed to the support email. The draft contains RunnerKit’s version and build, your macOS version, and CPU architecture. You decide whether to send it and what additional text or attachments to include. Your email provider processes the message, and we receive only what you choose to send.

The product website

The website does not include RunnerKit-authored analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site marketing trackers. The current hosting and delivery providers, OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare, may process standard request and security data such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, timestamps, and authentication cookies required to deliver or protect the site. When a visitor signs in, Sites may also provide the website with a site-specific user identifier, email address, and, when available, profile name. RunnerKit’s current website does not read, store, or share those identity headers.

How we use and share information

We use the limited information available to us to:

• provide purchases, license activation, validation, deactivation, and support;
• diagnose crashes, improve reliability, and protect RunnerKit from abuse or fraud;
• deliver software updates and communicate material product or policy changes;
• comply with legal, tax, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution obligations.

We do not sell personal information, rent contact lists, serve behaviorally targeted advertising, or track you across unrelated apps and websites. We do not upload your source code to an AI provider or use it to train AI models.

We disclose information only to the service providers described above, when you direct us to do so, when reasonably necessary to protect RunnerKit or others, when required by law, or as part of a business transaction where the recipient must continue to honor applicable privacy obligations.

Retention

• Local data: remains on your Mac until you delete it, clear the relevant history or setting, deactivate a license, or remove RunnerKit’s support files. RunnerKit automatically limits operation history and logs to the 100 most recent operations.
• Purchases and licenses: are retained as needed to provide your purchase, license, refunds, fraud prevention, support, and legally required business records. Polar applies its own retention policy to data it controls.
• Crash reports: are retained according to our Sentry project configuration and Sentry’s terms, and are removed or anonymized when no longer reasonably needed for diagnostics, security, or legal obligations.
• Support messages: are retained while needed to answer your request, maintain an appropriate support record, and meet legal obligations.
• Website request data: is retained by the hosting and delivery providers under their policies and operational settings.

Security

RunnerKit uses macOS Keychain for license credentials, authenticated encryption for the local trial mirror, HTTPS for licensing and updates, and redaction to keep full license keys out of logs, diagnostics, URLs, and user-visible provider errors. Polar licensing uses a non-caching session without cookies.

Local configurations and logs are protected by your macOS account and file-system permissions. No system is perfectly secure, so protect your Mac account, avoid secrets in project paths and environment overrides, and review anything you choose to send in a support email.

Children’s privacy

RunnerKit is a professional developer tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when RunnerKit’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we will use a reasonable method to bring it to your attention.
